2000 to date : Friends of Galapagos

The giant tortoises of the Galapagos Islands are found nowhere else on earth. But all the 11 sub-species are endangered. Their most famous representative is Lonesome George, the sole survivor of the Pinta Island tortoises - when he dies his race will be extinct. The Charles Darwin Foundation is working hard to save these remarkable animals through a programme of captive breeding and habitat restoration. But we urgently need your help.

Kösen supported the Galapagos Conservation Trust's main event at the Royal Geographical Society on 12 October 2000. Hundreds of GCT members attended a number of interesting lectures and wandered around an exhibition area. Kösen displayed its Galapagos "Lonesome George" tortoises and other selected life-like plush animals.
