the Friends of Galapagos in their conservation aims. |
The giant tortoises of the Galapagos Islands are found nowhere else on earth. But all the 11 sub-species are endangered.
Their most famous representative is Lonesome George, the sole survivor of the Pinta Island tortoises - when he dies his race will be extinct.
The Charles Darwin Foundation is working hard to save these remarkable animals through a programme of captive breeding and habitat restoration.
But we urgently need your help.

5TH ANNUAL GALAPAGOS DAY - OCTOBER 2000
Kösen supported the Galapagos Conservation Trust's main event at the Royal Geographical Society on 12 October 2000.
Hundreds of GCT members attended a number of interesting lectures and wandered around an exhibition area.
Kösen displayed its Galapagos "Lonesome George" tortoises and other selected life-like plush animals.
