“Large pandas are very rare
and threatened by extinction. Only a few people are lucky
enough to see them in the wild or even in zoos. In addition
to studies and drawings of pandas in zoos, I have been looking
at photos of pandas living in the wild in China. I noticed
a kind of sixth finger. With it, they can grab their favourite
food, the bamboo stalks, better.
They even seem more magnificent in their natural environment,
their fur looks longer, softer and is full of contrast. It
is thick and water repellent, optimally suited for their life
in humid mountain forests. For the first time we are using
precious faux fur made of alpaca wool, which feels wonderfully
soft. For the paws, fine imitation leather was embroidered
so that the pads look raised.
The fluffy baby panda shall express hope, that especially
in their home country a lot of panda babies will be born and
can grow up undisturbed.”
