"A lot of collectors
have asked for our little anteater. That’s why we have made
him a part of our limited collection of animals. In 2001
I had spent several weeks in Costa Rica. Down there I had
the chance to study the little anteater called “Tamandua”
in those parts. While walking in the dense jungles of the
Corcovado national park I suddenly saw a golden glimmer
moving between the trees close to the ground. Slowly it
came closer. It was the little anteater leisurely inspecting
the ground. In his long snout he hid his very, very long
tongue, perfect for eating ants.
For our Tamandua we have dyed the dense and silky fur of
an alpaca in a gold and yellow colour. The front paws have
four big embroidered claws, the hind paws have smaller claws.
Particularly beautiful are the two postures
of our Tamandua. On all four paws or sitting upright in
its typical defensive position."
